Procurement Specialist

Position Summary:

 

Contract Procurement Specialist will be responsible for finding goods and services for the company at the best value regarding quality and price for projects. The type of goods procured varies from one project to another with the underlying duty of meeting budget constraint to increase profitability. Additional duties of this position include assisting the analysis and preparation of contracts and working closely with upper management teams as well as outside vendors to meet project requirements and work with corporate procurement team on standardization and other purchasing processes

  • Identify suppliers of goods and services
  • Serve as the lead procurement specialist for the engineering department, responsible for creating, tracking, and updating purchase documents.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, deadlines, expectations, etc.
  • Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods
  • Create purchase orders and tally these with supply requests and orders
  • Attend meetings with the legal department to ensure any contractual obligations are favorable to the company
  • Work closely with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements
  • Proactively identifies opportunities and demonstrates a bias towards action in response to issues as they occur
  • Knowledgeable about current and future material commodities and market trends as well as continuously learns about the business requirements

Key Metrics Role is Accountable For:

  • Assist project group with quoting and procurement of goods and services.
  • Convert purchase requisitions to POs
  • Work with corporate commodity managers on contracts for larger projects.
  • Assist with issues associated with purchasing and invoicing

Key Relationships:

  • Site Manufacturing & Engineering teams (including maintenance and reliability)
  • Site Leadership team - Build sustainable & trust relationship to site management
  • Site EHS
  • Cooperation with service functions and site teams (Continuous Improvement, HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Procurement, Sales, Quality, Technology)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Effectively communicate with key personnel
  • Ability to collaborate and influence change
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook / Office / Excel/ etc. – computer basics
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Flexibility to work from home on occasion
  • Long-term contract position with possibility of progressing to a permanent position 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or Technical Field
  • Previous experience as Procurement Specialist
  • 2-5 years’ experience in sourcing or purchasing role
  •  Experience in a chemical industry desired

Transfer Operations Information Specialist

Position Summary:

 

The Information Specialist position supports the Transfer Operations organization by managing the transfer and availability of materials to and from the Supply Chain organization, to and from the Manufacturing Departments, performing and reconciling transactions in SAP, operational analysis within SAP, production cost accounting, process improvement and small project management. Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to manage multiple projects, possesses excellent communication skills, works well with a team, and interacts with multiple levels and functions within the Operations, Supply Chain, Global Supply Chain, and Finance organizations.

 

Tasks and responsibilities of the position:

 

 

  • Operate for strict adherence to compliance of EHS regulations and requirements for both internally and externally for installation/modification of site facilities and production process.
  • Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the public.
  • Improvement and regular adjustment of safety considerations within the Information Specialist role, and assisting the transfer operations department
  • Compliance with and further development of a zero-tolerance environment regarding occupational safety and environmental protection
  • Lead exposure reduction events
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal company standards for occupational and plant safety as well as environmental and health protection as directed by operations management
  • Ensure personal and assist operations in strictly following all applicable policies, procedures, standards including (but not limited to) ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 OHSA(S), business ethics, and other basic compliance requirements.                                                                                                                  Work with Operations Personnel to identify and implement cost reduction projects in assigned areas
  • Support the continuous process improvement and cost reduction initiatives in the area of responsibility with stable Operations, Lean, and Six Sigma tools in the areas of Quality, Safety, Cost and People.
  • Participation in internal and regulatory audits and ensure follow up actions, and initiates and documents change controls as appropriate
  • Develop system documentation, training documentation and conduct end user training for new SAP functionality and designs
  • Set up Pail and Sample Pours for transfer operations organization
  • Enter previous days production and add to database to generate new daily reports and schedules
  • Evaluate drumming and bulk backlog and assist in setting daily schedule
  • Communicate all reports for the transfer operations organization to supply chain and manufacturing
  • Evaluate incoming requests and department transfers, enter into daily schedule and work with transfer operations engineer to execute
  • Print all requests for packaging, loading, unloading and re-labeling, as well as making these movements in SAP
  • Create Batches, prepare paperwork print GHS and LIMS labels for Transfer Operations Organization
  • Manage unloads for dedicated product trailers and railcars, including generating paperwork as materials are received
  • Manage all railroad inbound and outbound including updates with CSX
  • Create delivery for outbound shipments of bulkloads
  • Back up duties of other Information Specialists in manufacturing
  • Other work as assigned

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree with at least 2 years relevant technical experience OR minimum of 5 years relevant technical experience.
  • Demonstrated SAP experience or experience with a ERP system.
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Effective communication and training skills.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work in a global business environment.
  • Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Instrumentation and Electrical Technician

Job overview and responsibilities:

  • Provide support for installation, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs for electrical equipment such as, but not limited to, motor control centers, generators, transformers, switches, relays, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, variable frequency drive (VFD), power distribution center (PDCs), uninterrupted power source (UPS)
  • Provide technical support to day-to-day operations and maintenance for repairs and equipment troubleshooting

Preferred Experience:

  • Ten years of electrical and instrumentation / controls experience
  • or
  •  Four years of relevant instrumentation / controls experience and BS EE

Skills :

  • Knowledge of NEC, federal, state, and local requirements for repair, service, and installation of industrial electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, and Microsoft Office Programs
  • Knowledge of E&I best practices, standards and maintenance requirements such as technology specific installation,  and troubleshooting
  • SAP Experience a plus

Project Manager

(2) Contract Project Manager positions at local chemical plant. One will be a Sr. Project Manager, the other a Junior Project Manager.
